Named 2012 Top Vacation Rental for Peterborough by Trip Advisor reviewers
2 High quality self catering cottages on the edge of the Cathedral City of Peterborough yet, nestled in The Fens. Quiet, relaxing, tranquil with all the excitement within a 15 minute drive. So much to do for young and old alike. Both cottages sleep 4. There is a shared garden with plenty to occupy energetic children and the occasional dog.
Crowland's popular fishing spot
Situated in Crowland, midway between Peterborough and Spalding. It's a town with a village feel. You know the sort of place, full of little treasures like the old fashioned teashop and friendly Italian restaurant and where, if you want embroidery cotton you quite naturally go to the hardware shop! Yet, it's just 15 minutes drive to the A1 or Peterborough with its magnificent Cathedral, shopping, theatres and high speed trains to London, and Spalding with its horticultural history and award winning garden centres galore.
The landscape of the Fens is renowned for having huge skys, they say that's why artists love to come here and why so many have settled here. But it's more than that. It's growing country, especially bulbs. In spring there are fields full of daffodils, narcissi and tulips, hence the world famous Spalding Flower Festival that happens every year in April and the Flower Festival that takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend each year in the Abbey.
These cottages are an ideal base for discovering the Eastern counties and an ideal place to come home to each evening, spacious and homely with all mod cons. Both are equipped to a very high standard.
There are no hidden costs, linen and towels a'plenty, a
kitchen well stocked with tea and coffee so all you need to bring are
your clothes, your smiles and good weather.
The drive alongside the river Welland from Crowland to Spalding is a delight! See the Percheron horses, the herons, crested grebes, egrets, barn owls and more.
We like dogs, we have one ourselves, but our policy for Fen-Acre is for other people's enjoyment, therefore we have decided to pemit one well behaved dog to The Lodge and restrict Eastside to accommodating assist dogs only. In addition, we operate a non smoking policy within the property, however smoking is permitted on the outside sitting areas.
